Default Cyprichromis leptosoma

I have just treated myself to two adult pairs of Cyprichromis
leptosoma. It's many years since I had any of these cichlids. I had
completely forgotten about the way Cyprichromis get all the other
cichlids out into the open. No hiding places needed. All the fish are
out showing off to each other.

I don't think my Cyprichromis would like to called ditherfish

They are some of the most interesting Lake Tanganika cichlids I know.

Over the years I've kept and bred hundreds of Tanganika cichlids but
for some reason my experience with Cyprichromis was forgotten until
these new ones arrived.

Fair call and one that needed to be made.
I'd defend me ectodus just as well.
Dam that lake has some incredible fish, and the colours are only the very
begining!

The biggest female now has a mouthful of eggs. That's the first time I
have seen Cyprichromis spawn for over 30 years.

Well envious as I am,

Whats your plan for getting fry to size?
Any pics of the spawn?

She still has a mouthful. I can occasionally see the fry in her mouth.
The male is guarding her, chasing off an other fish that get too
close. The next big test will be wear she hides the fry. Open water
fish don't seem to understand about the tiny gaps in the rocks.
