Default Extra goldfish

Hello,
Each year my pond produces more fish than I can take care of. What do
people do with their extra goldfish? Fishermen say it's not good to
dump them into streams because they eat the small gamefish. Would a
river be a good place to put extra goldfish into?
Thanks, Jim

That may be illegal were you live. How about farm ponds? Farmers are
usually happy to get them for mosquito control.

I seriously doubt goldies will cnsume small game fish, but they will
certianly compete for the environement and most likely cause problems
with natural critters. Its best to find a petshop to trade / sell /
give them to, or perhaps as Reel McKoi mentined find a farm pnd with a
farmer that wants them for skeeter control. In this region fokls put
up ads on the local petshop bulletin boards advertsing free or what
have you fish etc....I know Petsmart, Petco and Pets Plus all have
for sale trade wanted bulletin boards at the store entry.......but
whatever yu do , do not put them in other bodies of water (streams,
rivers lakes etc) without checking its legality first as it may find
yur n direct violation of state game / fish laws and cost you some $$$
