Darren, Not sure it is fair to put Oscars in this category (best cichlid). Oscars are big, demanding (ALWAYS want to be fed more), break things (e.g. heaters), and poop all over the place. They would definitely get my vote for best dog, however. ;-) By the way, if you ask the fish, I bet they would vote for uaru. I have found uaru to be somewhat exceptional in unintentionally attracting other species of fish to mate with them. I have had Oscars, Severums, and festivums all make a romantic overtures to my uaru.
