Default your opinion what's the best cichlid ~ Oscars & uaru

Mephistopheles wrote in message arthlink.net...

Darren,

Not sure it is fair to put Oscars in this category (best cichlid).
Oscars are big, demanding (ALWAYS want to be fed more), break things
(e.g. heaters), and poop all over the place. They would definitely get
my vote for best dog, however. ;-)

By the way, if you ask the fish, I bet they would vote for uaru. I have
found uaru to be somewhat exceptional in unintentionally attracting other
species of fish to mate with them. I have had Oscars, Severums, and
festivums all make a romantic overtures to my uaru.

Meph

Hey Meph --

You forgot to mention that Oscars do indeed eat (and enjoy) dry dog food -- :-)
