Don't listen to that troll doll, chip... Aside from being an expensive way
to find out if you got compatible fish, its also rather cruel. The yellows are pretty easy going as mbuna go. I've had them together w/ all kinds of fish w/ little ill effect. They should be fine w/ the two species you mentioned. Copidachromis Azureus might be another one. A species I like and found to be of similar temprement is the Cynotilapia Axelrodi. Good Luck "Mark Trueman" wrote in message om... Ive got a 160 litre tank that i want to convert from its current state as a planted tropical tank to a Malawi Cichlid tank (cos im fed up with maintaining plants!!). My water is 12.5 kh and ph about 8.4, so perfect for these fish. What i would like to get is some input on the fish i would like, bearing in mind that the tank isnt the biggest. Firstly, i would like a trio of yellow labs (Labidochromis caraelus), and am trying to decide on tankmates for these. I thought maybe a trio of Aulonocara Steveni would be nice to go with them and maybe a trio of Copadichromis Borleyi. Would this be too many fish for the 160 litre (filtered by an Eheim 2213). Id also like to keep a school of 'dither fish', maybe harlequins, of which i currently have 5 and maybe a bristlenose. Thanks for any advice Mark |

I'd probably leave the borleyi out, they get kinda aggressive with similar
sized fish, and all that you list are similar sized fish...I had one and it pesterd a few nearly to death.... Aulonocaras are great, labidochromis, and similars would be great together... color and behavior that will be close.... "Mark Trueman" wrote in message om... and what about soccofolis and the albino soccofolis, they are a tad pushy,
but have never had one injure another... "Rich Conley" wrote in message .. . I'd stay away from harlequins...I think the like lower PH..and most peacocks (Aulonocara) get big enough to eat harlequins without much of a problem. You might want to look into Iodotropheus Sperengue (Rusties) or Pseudotropheus Salosoui...both are rather peaceful as mbuna go.
