My first attempt at breeding fish has begun! My two kribs have finally
spawned! From previous posts you might recall that the male had dug a cave and they were protecting it. Well, now they are protecting it with amazing fury! The female is spending 90% of her time in the cave and the male is the best guard-fish I have ever seen. he has no fear!! I looked in the cave and all I could see was two little "eggs" that looked like little sack things, maybe 1mm accross, hanging from the bottom of the rock that they dug the cave under. next time Iooked they had gone... I assume the female has moved them to a safer spot with hopefully heaps of other eggs??? I have a couple of juvenile paradise fish in my tank as well. do you think this will be bad news for the fry? I have a very small spare aquarium I could put the fry in if they are likely to all be eaten, but I would rather have them nurtured by mum and dad, as long as 2 or 3 can survive!!! I'm pretty happy! |
