Default Silicon Valley Aquarium Society Meeting This Saturday, Dec 1st

Here we are already at the close of another year. My how time flies!
For our final meeting of 2007 we have one of our favorite speakers,
Dick Au. His topic will be "The Art of Selecting, Grooming and
Showing Discus". If you've ever been to a fish show and wondered how
those winning fish look so good in a show environment here's your
chance to learn the secrets of a master.

Dick has been an active aquarist and discus enthusiast for over 50
years. He credits his ongoing success in raising and breeding
beautiful discus to keen observation, patience, and practice rather
than relying on measurements and formulae. In addition to being a
veteran speaker and show judge, he is also an accomplished author. He
has been a member of our club since the very beginning.

We meet at the Round Table Pizza in San Jose (4400 Stevens Creek Blvd)
at 7pm.
Come early to socialize and order food. An auction and raffle will
follow the speaker. Our Bowl Show theme this month is variety - bring
any fish you want. For information about the club and a map visit our
web site svas.info.

In December we always hold elections for the Board of Directors. I do
hope that some of you members will come on up run for election. All
you have to do is talk to anyone currently on the board and say you
want to run. We'll put your name on the list right away.

Even if you don't think you have time to be on the board there are
plenty of ways you can help at meetings and behind the scenes. We have
teeny, tiny jobs all the way up to big jobs that need to be done to
keep this great club one of the best anywhere. So, think about whether
it's time for you to give something back.

Enjoy the meeting on Saturday and have a Happy New Year!
