Earlier thsi week I posted a message about my LFS identifying a fish
incorrectly that I had bought, I went back and now confirmed what it should be, which is a Pseudotropheus magpie. I cannot find out anything about this fish. Has anyone out there ever come across it? Brian |

There is a Metriaclima zebra that has an OB "orange blotched" pattern that is sometimes called magpie, but the mouth shape would never be confused with a Labeotropheus. If your fish has an OB pattern and the mouth is slightly underslung, but not anything like the mouth of a Labeotropheus, I'd guess your fish is Tropheops tropheops OB or Tropheops sp. "chinayamwezi" OB as pictured here. http://www.amateurcichlids.com/fish/pseudo_macro.shtml Good Luck with your fish. AC |

have you considered that this fish might be a hybrid? The possibility is not
remote, when purchasing from an LFS. That might explain the difficulty in identifying it. "Spindoctor" wrote in message ...
