James If fairly well grown and healthy, they can starve for a week with little or no bad effects. Indeed. We have teenage kids that are supposed to feed the fish while we're out of town, but at best they'll do one massive over-feeding a week or so unless nagged constantly. Having done several 1-2 week trips, we've only lost one fish and he had a tumour growing, so I wouldn't qualify him as healthy to begin with, my bet is that the other fish would have killed him food or not. |
