Default Acidic Pond

I have a friend with a small pond with goldfish. He is having a
problem with the acidity level being too high. He test the water and
gets the level to the proper spec but after about 2 weeks the water is
acidic again. Any else had this problem? Can anyone advise?

Cheers

Hi ask your friend to test the alkalinity. if the alkalinity is ok the
just add a ph buffer. also test the nitrate. if its higher than 20
ppm, tell him to do some 25% water changes biweekly until the nitate
level go down. make sure he is not over feeding or over populated with
fish. hight nitrate leveles are are sign that you are over feeding or
over populated and inturn the ph will decrease at a hight level than
usual. Every pond's PH will lower over time. Hope that helps

Hi,

I saw this posting and it caught my eye. I have a pond and I'm having
trouble with the stringy algae. Up to now I've been using the
commercial liquid called Pond Clear or something like that. It does
not harm the fish or the plants, but Is there anything I can do that
is more organic?
Good Day,

If the alkalinity is OK just add a pH buffer. Also the nitrate test. if it exceeds 20 ppm, tell him to get some water 25% changes every week until the plane crashed nitrate.
