Default PMDD recipe from HomeGrown Hydroponics: review

HomeGrown Hydroponics is offering a PMDD package to Sears & Conlin
specifications. They have a rudimentary web presence which is hard to
negotiate. I tried ordering by e mail and got no confirmation so I
called, found the number on the website to be their retail store
number; got an 800 number from them (later I found this on a different
page on the website; it is 1-800-463-6476, for those who don't want to
work out what "Info-Grow" translates to); the person who answered
could not access any e mail order info . . . despite a growing doubt,
I ordered the PMDD all over again. He couldn't tell me what the
shipping costs would be, either, but said it would be there within 4
days. This was not true, but it did arrive in 7 days. The box was
strangely damaged as if a knife had been taken to it but the stuff was
in there. The PMDD recipe was 4 bags, one each of K2SO4, KNO3, MGSO4,
and chelated trace elements. It cost $12 US and the shipping UPS from
Canada to California turned out to be $11.75, for a total of $23.75. I
haven't tried it yet.

My suspicion about Homegrown Hydroponics is that they don't know how
to do mail order over the web, and are in over their heads. But they
seem to have a wide retail presence in Canada. If you want their PMDD
and don't live in Canada I suggest you call them, not email them. I
think it's safer.
