sad news

I have posted previously that I have a goldfish tank in a communal
living situation. Well, had.

This morning I went downstairs to feed the goldfish and found the two
larger single tails immobile on the bottom and the two fantails floating
belly up. And from the kitchen doorway I could smell alcohol. During the
night somebody had poured enough alcohol to noticeably raise the water
level in a 29 gallon tank.

I am very sad and angry and I don't know if I have the heart to give
goldfish-keeping another try.
