extra foam from skimmer when adding water to tank by
kim gross
B wrote:
Hello.
I am very new with marine tanks. I have a Coralife protein skimmer
that tends to overflow whenever I add new water to the tank (to replace
evaporated water). I am using tap water, with a standard water
conditioner.
The extra foam ceases after a day or so, but until...

adding bubble sticks to salty by
Bryan
I wanted to have a bubble wand or two in the back lenght of the aquarium for
the effect. I was told by one person that bubbles in salt aquarium lead to
the salt collecting at the top glass, above water level, where the bubbles
"pop". I assume this also leads to lower salinity over time.
Any...

Finally by
Pat
So, I finally got my light kit and built a box and hung them from my
ceiling.
Setup:
2 X 250 Watt Metal Halide 10,000K
2 X 54 Watt(I think) Actinic T5 flourescent.
That's mounted in a metal reflector.

Remora upgrade by
Harry Ohanian
I read a while back that you can run a mag 3 pump on the remora pro. I
tried it and it over flowed. Doe's anyone have a better way of running the
remora pro than using the RIO that come with it ?

Two- toned lobster by
[email protected]
Hey huys. Check this out. The unique colors saved this lobster from a
date with a dinner plate! This two- toned lobster was caught last week
by a canadian fisherman off newfoundland. The lobster is half orange,
the color when a lobster is cooked, and half green. The fisherman who
caught the...

Powerhead screen by
Any of you had livestock sucked into your powerhead? I've read about it a
bit and am looking to be proactive.
Any ideas on what I could buy or make to surround the powerhead to prevent
accidents? I have a small Rio800 btw.
Thanks,
B

hydrometer dilemma by
Cindy
I have a new Coralife Deep Six hydrometer that I've been using for the
past year or so. But over the weekend I sorted through my trash can
full of aquarium supplies, and found my old "The Original" Seatest
hydrometer that I've had for probably 20 years.
The Coralife reads 1.022, and the tank has...

Wandering anemone by
Steve
It's an old problem I know, just got a lovely light green bubble tip
anemone, but he cause trouble on his first night in the tank.
Currently he is sitting bang in the middle of a bunch of pulse coral
heads, and you can tell the coral is not at all pleased with the
situation. I like anemones, but...

Pagoda coral (Turbinaria), Goniopora, various Zooanthus polyps, Clavularia

So I'm browsing at the primary non-chain pet store in town, which has just
moved to a new location. Along with their new location they have a new
policy on marine livestock.
"No guarantee on marine livestock. Disease and loss are your

Injured anemone by
Brandon Buckner
Hi all,
I've got a smallish bubble-tip anemone that got partially eaten by a
chocolate-chip star. Basically the main body is intact, but the
tentacles are nearly all gone. The anemone is still moving around the
tank at times (right now hanging off the back side of the tank near the
water line) and...

PC Ballast question by
Mark Cooper
I have used PC fixture I was given. The brand name is "Top". It came with 2
55w lamps. The fixture is pretty beatup, but works fine. I am thinking of
taking it apart and mounting the innards in a new housing. I am also
wondering if this fixture can run 65w lamps. If I plug a 65 into this
ballast,...
