Tank Height by
Ryan H.
For several years I've had a 20in tall 75G tank. I am going to
replace my tank soon and was thinking about going with a 24in tall
tank. Is anyone else using a 24in tall tank? I know that the light
hitting the bottom would be weaker as a result. I am already running
200W PC lights which I think...

Well let me start off by apologizing for the length of this post. To tell

a 29gal planted tank with fluorite substrate, fluval 204 canister, compact
fluorescent lighting, and pressurized CO2. My inhabitant are a female...

CO2 Diffusion by
gizmo
Is there a linear relation on CO2 diffusion in Hard/soft water ?
I ask this because yesterday on my weekly water change I've added 25% RO
water.
What I did notice is that at this stage (GH was lowered by 2 degrees) that
the CO2 diffuses much better. before the water change, the bubbles...

Yet another Newbie and Filter Seeker by
Keng
Hello all
So I am new to all of this. I just moved to Buffalo NY last month and
I just purchased a 72 gal bow front and would like your suggestions on
filters for a plant tank. I read thru most of the messages right up to
'99 but kinda figured I would throw this question out again.
A. Firstly,...

Plants by
Jaco van Niekerk
Hi
I regard myself as very new to to keeping fish. I enjoy it very much and
have read up a lot about the various species and tank setups I monitor the
water closely. Nitrite is somewhat high - but not dangerous. I fancy real
plants, but have been rather unsucessful with them. I am reading a...

additional aeration at night needed with C02 injection? by
Dave M. Picklyk
I just thought I'd toss this around the newsgroup and see what kind of
opinions I get: What does everyone think about adding more aeration at night
when the lights are off and plants have reversed their gas roles. I have
seen a few of my fish dwelling towards the water surface at night. I...

CO2 - Aqualine Buschke, Milwaukee, or Aqua Medic? by
Sidney
I'm looking for a complete CO2 system with a solenoid valve, without the CO2
bottle/tank or a PH controller (yet ;-).
These three companies seem to be the "main stream" setups and are all
relatively close in terms of price. Are they relatively close in terms of
performance? Finding factual...

Caridina Japonica shrimp by
gizmo
I've introduced today 10 little guys to my 100gallon planted tank.
I really don't have a big algae problem but I don't mind having them eating
it....
I read in some places they prefer soft water and might eat java moss and
some riccia plants.
Does anyone has good/bad experience with them...

Carbo Plus Co2 System by
gauloiseguy
I never used one, but read up a lot because I was tempted to buy one and
decided not to do so because the device reduces KH to produce CO2 (oposed to
the manufacturers (sp?) claims it does so buy electrolising waterand let the
O2 react with the C in the block...).
This means fluctuating KH levels...

Eheim 2327 by
Keng
Has anyone had any experience with the Eheim wet/dry + heater canisters?
Will I be able to feed CO2 from a pressurized CO2 tanks with it?
Should I get a wet/dry filter at all? or just the canister filter?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks :*)

Killifish experience? by
Djay
Do any of you know a good Killifish site?
My LFS traded me 6 Killies (2 male and 4 female) for a 13" long Anubius
plant and they were doing fine. I put them in my 70 gal community tank and
observed mating rituals - diving into java moss etc. Well 4 months later I
only have one male left. I...

Metal halide question by
Michal Majewski
Hello
I've got one important question. Can I use a 150W Aqualine 10000K MH bulb
over amano style aquarium? I've got unused bulb from my sal****er aquarium
and I want to use it. Plants will be ok or not under this kind of lightning?
Isn't 150W too much for 80x35x40(height) cm tank? The lamp is 45...

Apo. undulatus bleaching by
Seweryn
Hello all,
Quick question about the bleach treatment. Can Apo. undulatus stand the
standard 1/20 bleach solution dip? Say.. 2 minutes? Also, when I plant it,
should I leave most of the tuber exposed?
Cheers,
- Seweryn

Dosing nitrate and phosphate by
Blarneytoad
I've tested my tank and nitrate and phosphate are almost
imeasurable.Plant growth is just not what I'd like so I've decided
to dose those two compounds.I can't find any greenlight stump
remover so I'm going to try Seachem's new nitrate and phosphate
additives. Has anybody tried these yet?

CO2 bottle consumed after 2 weeks by
RedForeman ©®
if it wasn't a leak, you may be bubbling too much, but without water
parameters, can't tell ya... the only way I can get water pushed out of the
diffuser is to open the regulator wide open, where it's pushign more CO2 out
than the water can 'absorb'
post your water parameters, your tap water and...
