Anacharis Question by
^*^ Vosklady ^*^
Hi All . . . :)
I've got a quick question I'm hoping to get some help with.
About a month ago, I purchased some Anacharis. It's doing fine in my tank,
so well that it's growing like a weed. I weekly have to trim the plants and
make new bunches.
What I'm wondering about is: On some of the plants,...

Update Was: Can you identify this (semi) aquatic moss? by
Mean_Chlorine
As some may remember, I in May requested help in identifying a
semiaquatic moss I'd found locally, and which grew well in my aquarium
(still does, btw).
Anyway, the moss has now been tentatively ID'd as Leptodictyum
riparium, an apparently common european moss inhabiting shallow waters
(e.g....

Compact power flourescents? Too much light?? by
Ðãve M. Picklyk
Thinking about setting up a 28 gal aquarium...I was going to get two double
strip All-glass light units totalling 80W (2.9wpg) and put Power-Glos in
them. I have come accross a 24" Compact Power Flourescent unit at Big Als
that has two 65 watt bulbs (130W = ~4.6wpg) 1 daylight and 1 actinic....

CALIBRATION KIT 4.0ph, 7.0ph, 10.0ph by
-=Almazick=-
I just bought Checker PH tester by Hanna Instruments and have a question
about calibration kit. It says in the manual that I have to empty powder in
100ml of water but I heard that you can split capsules up to 15 times.
That's what I read "May enough buffer for about 15 calibrations if you are
not...

Easy and complete CO2 system? by
Toni
I apologize in advance as I know I asked about this before. I've searched my

it.
I want an easy to install CO2 system for a 90 gallon tank. I want every
piece I will need to come in the one order- I do *not* want to be...

Planted Bucket by
Sam
I bet the "gray poppyseed" is a fish fry. It probably hitched in on the
plant roots. It is most likely a danio or minnow, but hey, you never know.

What lighting for anubias, java fern and vallis ? (low tech tank) by
Alan Silver
Hello,
I'm just setting up a new cichlid tank and want to add plants. According
to Tropica's web site, the three types of plants mentioned above are all
fish-proof and should do OK in low light conditions.
The tank is 24" high, so I can't have plants that need high lighting due
to the depth. I...

Are compact fluorescent the same as power compact? I see different

clarification.
Most likely, yes. The real distinction is between compact flourescents
designed for aquarium use and those designed for replacing...

Add Potassium how? by
Keith Moore

I use Flourish Seachem and Plant Gro (Iron Enriched) and just realized that
they don't have any Potassium. I get yellow pinholes in older and slow
growing leaves. Where can I buy Potassium for my tank? Local fresh plants
store or PetCO?

Plants vs Nitrite and Nitrate - odd reading. by
RedForeman ©®
Put the bamboo in regular tap water, in the same setup you have it in now,
and then test the water... my only thought would be the plant is releasing
something that is corrupting your test result... if it's not the plants
releasing, it had to be the water's concentration... just a...

Quarantine tank by
Dick
I just got a 10 gallon tank I plan to leave empty to use as a
quarantine tank. I have had some questions and would like to know
what is the best way to keep a tank available for babies, health
problems, observation of new fish.
I have a heater in the tank, but plan to leave it off until needed. ...

I've had my 75 gallon freshwater planted tank up and running for over

Do I need substrate heating cables? by

Hi. I've started buying all the needed supplies for setting up a 70g

cables for the substrate. Do I really need these? I've bought
flourite for a substrate, live in central FL, the house temperature
hovers around 78-81 in the...
