My Science Project, Part Deux by
LeeAnne
So, I set out a container of water right next to the pond and I'm going to
keep my eye on it to see if any nasty mosquitos try to use it as a breeding
ground.
Will be checking it daily.
Also, www.chewedtoast.com, has pix of my small pond.
Happy Friday!

fantails dieing help! by
dkat
a friend's fantails seem to keep coming up to the surface whether they want
to or not. One has died already and the other though it looks fine is not
acting right. It basically seems to not be able to keep itself in a normal
position... Any ideas?

Baby koi by
Jerrispond
This year I have LOTS of anacharis in the pond, and I can see over half a dozen
baby koi. they look to be an inch or two long. I am really excited over the
coloration of two of them. One is totally black with a red head. One is
blue/grey with several large black spots. I would really like to...

Help with biofilter system by
Judy
It gets quite confusing when trying to figure out the best filter
system to buy.
My pond is 12'x10' and 3 and half feet deep. I would love to find a
bio system outside the pond but if a submersible filter system is
better I would accept that. Since my pond is not that big, I'm
wondering what is the...

Opinions on PopUpPond product? by
Cichlidiot
Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience with the new PopUpPond product? I saw a
little blurb about it in the cichlid issue of TFH and also saw it at a
local pet store. Needless to say I'm a tad skeptical that it could be any
good for how little it costs (less than $50 for the 45 gallon model). I...

Hardy lilies - when will they flower by
LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
Yes, I guess it must if you haven't had any hot and steamy weather. It's
been in the high 90's (I know, nothing compared to the South) and high
humidity. It wasn't too bad today, humidity wise, anyway, and I was able do
dig a walkway in my front yard.

Alien pond plants by
jammer
They have gone mad. I always noted that the celery just sat there with
it's few small branches, but 2 ft. away, it is coming out of the water
everywhere. Then it looks like i have taro coming out of the anacharis
far away from the taro plant. The primrose LOVES this climate and i
could probably sit...

upgrading a swimming hole in a creek I need need info by

I own a piece of property that has a large creek passing through it

is to wide to dam it all the way accross and I am wondering what the
best way to deepen it might be. If at all possible I would like to

Baby blue herring? by
Sam Hopkins
Hi Everyone,
Saw a strange bird at my pond yesterday. It was the same size of
a woodduck (which is about 3/4 the size of a normal duck), black or VERY
dark blue, had a neck like a goose, and flew into and sat in trees. I'm
thinking it may be a baby herring that hadnt developed it's colors yet....
