Halide Lighting Won't Fire by
Bryan
I just bought a dual 400w metal halide lighting system. In the store
the fired it up before I left, they did have problems getting it to
fire but blamed it on the circuit they plugged it in to. Once home I
mounted them to the top of my canopy and tried to fire them up, it
took a little fiddling...

UGF (Not really) improvement by
Bill Stock
I've been thinking about ways to reduce the maintenance on my GoldFish Tank
and improve their water quality at the same time. We also know the big
problem with GF is the poop. So if you wan'tto keep a semi clean tank with
gravel, you need RUGF and lots of washing. There are also those who...

I have a pregnant guppy, a pregnant swordtail, and a pregnant sunburst

Special-case FW chilling question by
Duncan Elkins
I've googled chiller posts for about an hour, but can't find anything
specifically on this topic, mostly because I'm not vainly trying to
use a dorm fridge. :-) If I've missed something, I apologize.
Basivally, I'm trying to use one chiller to cool two tank,
temporarily. I have a large (~280...

Advice sought on using an RO unit by
Spindoctor
I bought an DD Aquarium solutions RUV050 RO unit at the weekend, if I had
known how bad the instructions were I might
have not bothered,
Eventually I worked out that you needed to put a flow resistor on the
output pipe but what's not clear from the unit is
what is filtered out and what's not.
I...

Filter upgrade by
chas good
I have a 37gal with the Eclipse3 hood. Filter and bio-wheel built into
the hood. Rated at 250GPH. I think it is less. Pump riser tube is on
the left side of the tank. 2 water outlets on the right side of the
tank from the filter and you can direct the flow in any direction. I
like the fact that the...

flower horn fry without a male - please help! by
mjm0107
Please help! I have a flower horn cichlid that seems fully grown.
(Approx. 8-9 inches)
I'm pretty sure she's a royal tiger.
Right now I have fry from her. This is the third time her eggs have
produced fry, from about five or six times of laying eggs.
She has NEVER had a tank mate and has been...

Water Change Pump Recommendations by
Harry Muscle
My water change system calls for a pump that could pump 15G of water up 4
feet within a few minutes (around 5 mins). The pump would only be used once
a week (for those 5 or so minutes), or as often as my one tank requires its
water changed. Any recommendations for a cheap, yet somewhat good...

Via Aqua Pumps - Good, Bad, Ugly? by
Harry Muscle
I'm looking for opinions about Via Aqua pumps. I'm especially interested in
getting the Via Aqua 1300 for very light duty work (ie: minutes of run time
a week as part of a water change system). Does Via Aqua make decent pumps?
Or am I throwing money away by getting one?
Thanks,
Harry
