How much light is too much? by
Bob
I have a 60 gallon FW tank which currently has 4-48" standard
fluorescent bulbs over it. As a general rule, that doesn't seem to be
enough for some of the more light-demanding plants, such as grasses
and red-leaved plants. (Though they may also be getting done in by my
clown loaches....)
So I'm...

Anything wrong with a 24" high tank stand? by
Harry Muscle
I'm starting to check out some of the stands available for aquariums and I
came across one that my wife and I both like, however, it's a little shorter
than what I'm used to seeing. Normally most tank stands seem to be around
28-30" tall, however, this one here is only 24". The tank that's gonna...

UV Sterilizer for fighting algae and better fish health by
Tony
I've been contemplating adding a UV sterilizer to my 75 G. freshwater tank.
The prices aren't that expensive if it would be a positive addition.
I'm primarily considering it for 2 reasons: overall improvement of fish
health and assistance in the fight against algae.
Can anyone comment on the...

Eheim noise/ low flow by
Seweryn
Hello peoples!
Got a question about my 4 month old Eheim 2213...
After running silently for a while, it has developed a rattly hum when
running. I cleaned the canister out, squeezed the filter pads, rinsed the
substrate, made sure the tubes were clear, and disassembles the outer pump
components...

Yellow Tang scraping himself by
Mark A. Odell
I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to save my Yellow Tang. It
appears he has acquired a parasite of some sort. He is scraping himself
against the rocks and sand constantly. His tail section is red as well as
his mouth which I assume is blood.
Thanks.

Toadfish by
John Setzler
Here's an interesting photo of a toadfish that I made recently. This
little guy lives in an aquarium at our local science museum. He was
right up against the glass for a great photo opportunity :)

Eheim filter for 75 gallon aquarium question by
Company
To the group:
I am setting up a 75 gallon aquarium and would appreciate advice on which
Eheim filter would be the better choice. Am looking at the Eheim Wet/Dry
Filtration system with a Model 2229 or the Eheim PRO II, Model 2128. Any
suggestions or advice?
