metal in an aquarium by

Silver is fine in both salt and fresh.
If you're going to spend the buck for silver, I think you should go with
titanium. It's ion is non toxic and it's much more inert.
In fresh you can also use iron,

Reverse Osmosis Question... by
gizmo
Hi All,
This is a simple tech question regarding a Reverse Osmosis System....
Recently I've purchased such a system of 100GPD. At the beginning the output
was really 100GPD, but now it works with 85GPD even after I've replaced the
Filters. (One Pre and two carbon filters....)
I can add that the...

What would happen if I were to use the Pre Heating bulbs (slow starting) on

advice on nitrate filters by
jaap
hi,
The maintenance job I dislike the most is doing water changes.
Is it a good idea then to invest in a nitrate filter? Has this disadvantages
(for a regular aquarium filled with platys danios, angelfish, gouramis,...).
any other recommendations?
Are they costly? ....

Wiring question by
Mort
I am going to attempt overdriving some NO tubes in the near future.
But, my fixture has a starter wired in to it. Should I leave it in or take
it out?
Also, for the switch on the fixture.... Does it matter which line I run
through it?
For example, do I want to break the circuit with the yellow...

carboplus: only one week by
jaap
hi,
Since a month now, I've been using a carboplus installation in my 95gallon
tank.
It seems to run fine and plants really grow fast. One (major) problem
though: after one week of working (only during the days, but always at full
blast) the units gives a red light. This probably means the...

Sodium Thiosulfate .. and Formalin by
Bob K.
Formalin was what I was looking for. The brands
of "ammonia & chorine/chloromine" removers all
have these two chemicals in them.
I have heard that pool supply places sell it for around $1.00 a pound.
This place sells it:
