DSB questions by
Brad Irwin
I am in the middle of setting up a new tank and am using a DSB. I just
went out and bought some bule leg and red leg hermits and a brittle
star to stir up the sand a little. The hermits seem to be eating the
organisms in the sand is this a bad thing, are they eating the
organisms?

FAQ Review by
Mort
I did read the FAQ a couple of months ago.
However, in my effort to take my time, I am starting to forget some things.
I think I might be going to slow... I took a month to set, level and fill
my tank lol!
Anyway, to the point.

cleaning sand by
david
im not trying to sterlize my tank. But is there any method for cleaning sand
not that it even looks dirty but after a few years should anything be done.
I want to add more sand and I was wondering if i should do anything first.

Anemones by
BlueAngelMM
I Had some green blobs attached to my filter which I took for jelly fish. When
I took them off the fiter and put them in a bowl, I could see they were not
jelly fish but small tiny anemones. I put them in my tank attached them to a
piece or small rock, and have watched them grow some are as big...

Damselfish by
BlueAngelMM
I just put in clownfish and read a book on them and it said damselfish were a
sub species of clowns. Does this mean the will produce females and males in
the same manner as clown fish? I have two dominoes, two striped, and two
yellow tailed blues in my tank. If they do acquire the sex in the same...

Will Anenome Gain back Fluorescence under MH? by
Timothy Tom
I obtained a lime green anenmome approximately 15 months ago
http://www.reefaquariumguide.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1138&password=&sort=1&thecat=500
which has lived in my 150 gallon reef. It has however definitely
darkened to a deeper green color and lost a good deal of its
fluorescence...

Yes, new bulbs tend to cause a brief algae bloom.

Bad Fish by
John Hudson
I have a 7" dragon wrasse that is tearing my tank apart. I don't want to
flush it down the toilet like the last *bad* fish because of it's size, but
if someone doesn't volunteer to take it, I probably will put him in a zip
lock in the trashcan.
I am in Lincoln, Nebraska.

How to catch a Camelback shrimp? by
kim gross
Camelback shrimp also known as dancing shrimp are not good for
reeftanks. To catch them the first suggestion I would give you is to
try a glass leaned up against a rock with food in the bottom of it. The
shrimp should be able to get into the glass but unable to get out.

Does anyone know where I can buy moisture-proof end-caps for in line PC

MH bulb orientation ? by
Boomer
DS
Although I have seen very view bulbs installed front to back, front to back would have
less "wash out" through the front of the glass, because of the way the light emanates from
its point source. The spread would be less lengthwise, front to back, but more focused

CUKE NUKE - I think saved my tank by
Paul
Mine didn't even get caught in the intake. It was actually on the back
glass very close to the intake.
I beleive the mere suction of the intake freaked it out and it
released its guts.
When I took the cuke out of the tank it was still alive. It is in a
quarantine tank, the day after i woke up it...
