Default carp/koi in a tank?

I used to keep goldfish, but I no longer have them. I am thinking of
putting carp or koi in a 10 gal tank. Maybe only a small one, or up to
3 small ones. Is that ok? Or are they strictly for ponds?

I know this may not be the forum, but are carp or koi ok if it's a feng
shui tank ... does anyone know?

Thanks for any help!

NO..they are not meant to be in a 0 gal tank. They grow fast, and in
short order will outgrow a 10 gal tank, espeically 3 of them. Koi and
most goldies belong in large containers of water re PONDS

What will you do with them in a few months when they outgrow your small
tank? Please by pass goldfish and koi and stick with smaller fish. :-)

Yes, I raise both. Koi and goldfish are too fast growing and too large to
keep in such a small tank.

strictly for ponds. each koi need around 100 gallons each, with a minimum of 500
gallons. koi get to be 36" long. Ingrid

ZB, I take your point. I think I will stick to smaller tropicals. You
seem to imply that you know something about feng shui fish ... can I
put guppies in my feng shui tank?? Or do you know of a forum or
somewhere where I can ask some feng shui fish questions? The only forum
I found in Google seems totally inactive and full of junk.

Thanks!

Hi, sorry but I'm not familiar when feng shui at all, so cannot help you
with your feng shui tank. I'm not very familiar with the metric system
either. I do know goldfish and koi get large and are not suitable for
smaller tanks.

OK Im not a great feng shui expert.....my only exposure having been
minimal but if I understand the concept that the whole idea is about
creating balance and harmony and peace.....so puttting inappropriate
fish for the environment will negate this instantly......so you are
looking at creating the correct environment for your livestock, that is
peaceful and gives the right vibes/karma - am I right or wrong....stop
me here if I am off track.....

The goldfish/koi will not work but small tropicals might well
work....you will need a heater though to get the conditions
right....this can easily be hidden by clever planting.....now I would
say one of the best tanks that I have is a small 5 gall tank that is
lush with greenery and houses some tropical cherry barbs and shrimps -
all in that tank is balanced, peaceful and is a pleasure to look
at....if I was an advocate of feng shui then I would say that it has
been reached in this one small tank.....but JMO and I know very little
about the concept of feng shui
