That denitrator is perhaps most useful for a marine reef aquarium. I
have to add nitrate to my freshwater aquariums for plant growth.

Also, denitrators are supposed to involve anaerobic bacteria that bring
their own issues.

Been there, tried that. Ever seen a Nitrex box? I tried one when I was
a beginner with a bad test kit and though I had high nitrate. Half the
fish in my tank caught diseases and died before I figured out that the
Nitrex box was H2S poisoning them.

My name is John Strawn and I make the Aquaripure denitrators. They work EXACTLY as advertised and do EXACTLY what they are supposed to. Why are you going around slandering my product??? If you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and haven't tried my product then why not keep your mouth shut. My denitrator is better than others for a lot of reasons. Also, in response to another comment, they work GREAT with freshwater aquariums.

I've been selling Aquaripure denitrators for 5 years and I doubt I'd be in business if I kept killing everybodys fish. My reef tank hasn't lost a single fish in 2 years and my FW tank is doing great as well.

In rural areas do you know how they make well water high in H2S drinkable??? They stir it! That's it, they stir it to aerate it. Very quickly ALL of the H2S is replaced with CO2 and O2. It does NOT stay in the water. It is NOT what killed your fish. I suspect an overcrowded tank with incompatible species and other poor fish keeping did that.

If you want to read comments from people who have actually USED an Aquaripure and then here are several links to different forums and reviews. There is also a lot of stuff on it at Reefcentral.com but their search is always busy.
