Default Downgrading to FO tank

Hi guys,

I've had a 30 gallon reef tank for the last couple of years and I've decided
that it's too much trouble (for many different reasons).

Currently, I have some live rock with some riccordea, some green polyps, two
leather corals and some miscellaneous mushroom anenomies. I have PC
lighting (actinic and 10,000K 96W). I have two fish...a percula clown and a
yellow chromis.

I'm thinking of downgrading to either a FO tank or FO with live rock. My
question is...would I still have to use RO water for a FO tank or FO with
live rock? I realize that algae can always be a problem; but when I had a
FO tank years ago, I would just remove, bleach and rinse the dead ornamental
corals to remove the algae when it got too bad.

As always, thanks for your help!

Maddie

Everyone I know uses RO or RODI. Back in the 80's I used dechlorinated
tap water, as did everyone, but today if I was going FOWLR or even FO
I'd probably still use RODI just because of the purity of it.

Both Emmens and Fenner say no.
