Is it true that the common Chinese Algae Eater doesn't really eat any algae? Young chinese algae eaters (CAE) do eat algae. The problem is that older CAE get very aggressive and like to suck patches of flesh off of other fish. Better choices depend on the size of your tank and the types of algae you need fish to eat and include Otocinclus, siamese algae eaters, Ancistrus spp., Farlowella spp., mollies, certain snails, and algae eating shrimp. -- __ Elaine T __ __' http://eethomp.com/fish.html '__ rec.aquaria.* FAQ http://faq.thekrib.com |
