You're right and I told the lfs guy that Rios have a terrible rep,
couldn't he get another one for me. Well, it came with the CPR, so he
suggested that I just use it until it fails and then we replace it.
That seemed extravagant to me, but it's part of the package, so I seemed
to be stuck with it. I hope it doesn't do anything worse than fail.

it might have been because I have dial up and opened it anyways (only took
about 2 min to download) but it looked considerably like a Rio pump hanging
in there on my dial up connection, I'd replace that if it were me.

well there have been tons of tanks crashed from Rio's melting and spewing
their innards (nasty chemicals) into the tanks. I'd yank it and replace it
with a maxi jett when $$$ allowed for it myself.
