Default Skim in main tank or sump ?

Good evening fellow reefers,

I'm setting up a sump/refugium.
I can place the skimmer in the sump or leave it on the tank. (Aqua C Remora
Pro)
Where is the skimmer more effective: Sump, Main Display or it doesn't matter
?
TIA !!!

Chris

IMO, Effectiveness is not going to change much depending on placement in
tank vs. sump.
I'd place it in sump just for estetics of the main display.

If you have good surface skimming overflow feeding your sump the sump
is a much better place for the skimmer, since the surfactants are more
concentrated in the sump because of the overflow.
