Hi Dan
Do you mean 'man made lava rock? "The book of the marine aquarium" by Nick Dakin advises that Lava and Tufa rock are the best rocks to use in the aquarium (besides live rock...). Volcanic rock would of course be high in contaminants such as sulphur. I've had issues with Tufa before as it wasn't as easy to clean as I first thought... Regards Chris "Steve Sells" wrote in message nk.net... not easy in the home. if you don't know its safe, then play is safe, we all have too much money involved in out tanks to take risks. Steve "Dan Norgard" wrote in message ... No, so far I'm just toying with the idea. How do I test for all that? Thanks, Steve Dan "Steve Sells" wrote in message ink.net... depends on what is in that rock, have you tested them for Iron, and heavy metals, for a start for toxic things... ? Steve "Dan Norgard" Can Volcanic Rock be safely added as a base to the LR in a cycling tank ?? Thanks, Dan |
