Stocking a 125 Tank

I have a 125 tank that has about 10 cory cats, 2 Bushy Nose plecos and
a handful of danios.

Any suggestions on what I could put into this tank to get a nice
community balance up to speed?

I'd chuck maybe some rams or discus in
maybe even kribs

if you are going to put discus in that tank take out the danios, instead add a shaol of cardinals or neon which in large shaols look amazing. If you are only new to the hobby or have no knowledge of
discus stay with the community theme, add kribs and allow them to pair off and enjoy them looking after their young, and or congo tetra which are nice and lively

When I want to set up a new tank I usually look at what my interests
a Biotope; Planted; Regional; Breeding; Species......

I know it sounds a bir odd but check out what sort of things interest
you. Its not going to be much fun, not to mention costly if a couple
months down the line you decide not to go for what you've got. I know
when I started I stayed with soft water species from either the Amazon
or Far East as I had a readily available supply of soft; acidic water.
I know other ppl who started with livebearers and just got stuck there.

To cut a long story short, try and figure what direction you'd like to
go for, do some research and then make a decision.

The bird has a good point there.
Perhaps get out the yellow pages and find all the fish shops in your area.
Make a list and make a day of it.
Be chatty with owners and explain what you want to do.
Jeez even make notes. The people who want to help ya aren't gonna mind if
you want to research your choices.
The ones just after your money can settle down and chill anyway. I mean if
theres is the best you'll be back.

Just remember on a recon, your there to see what YOU want. You get home and
think about what ya saw everywhere and then research what might work
together.
You don't buy stuff on the recon!
You check out whats there
and then research
and choose.
I chose the expensive stumble through everything and try it out route first.
But now every tank is long planned before it ever gets bought.
planned a few ahead at the moment :P

I like Clown Loaches, Siamese Algae Eaters, Angelfish and Gouramis in
as large a quantity that the tank will handle. A smaller fish I like
in quantity is the Red Serpae.

If you like fish to shoal, my SAEs and Clowns swim together and share
beds, usually large anubia leaves.

You haven't said anything about plants nor what lighting you have
(watts/gallon). I find my plants almost as interesting as my fish.
