What kind of fertilizer do you use?

Right now I use the Flourish Products from Foster & Smith. I'm also
experimenting with houseplant fertilizers which are a fraction of the price.
So far I see no difference even though the Houseplant fertilizer contains
nitrogen which does not cause an ammonia or algae spike.

Right now I am using (2) 18" lights
that said they "promote" plant growth from the pet store. Personally, I
do not think they help at all.

Two 18" bulbs are much too small for a 55g tank. The plants are starving in
the dim light.

"PowerGlo" or something like that. They
obviosuly do not help. They are only a few months old. I have never
fertilizer.

You really need much better lighting on your tanks. I'm sure someone will
come along and recommend something for you. All I can suggest is much more
watts per gallon no matter what you choose. I have two strip fixtures on
top of each of my tanks. Not very attractive but they work well.
