Hey, thanx Liisa!
Doug "Liisa Sarakontu" wrote in message . .. "Doug" wrote in : Okay, it sounds as though its unanimous! Their barbs and most likely Golden Barbs then. Are they a fairly rare type of fish? Nope, but very common type of fish. Very easy to breed, very hardy and so rather easily available. And in this case "type" is really more correct than "species", as these fish are a manmade form of a wild Vietnamese species. Golden Barbs were called "Puntius sachsi" or "Barbus sachsi" until it was found out that they are not a real species but a morph of a species, Barbus (Puntius) semifasciolatus, sometimes known as "Brass Barb".
