.. . When I buy Rams (Apisto ramirezi), my staff roll their eyes and say "not again". Last 3 batches were all the same (and from different suppliers). They look gorgeous, beautiful coloration, and then they start dropping like flies over 2-3 weeks. If I'm doing something wrong, I have no clue what it is. If after a month, there are survivors, then they seem to live normal lives. I working with a local to breed them for me now. If it's DOCs, then the next order will go straight to a bare-bottom iso Yes it does seem to be luck of the draw with Rams, but as you say if they survive the initial few weeks then they do pretty well after that! Someone here mentioned that maybe the acclimatation period should be longer, using the drip method like the marine guys do it. It's worth a shot cause they definitely make a wonderful addition to any community tank. Cichlids are just too cool ![]() -- **So long, and thanks for all the fish!** |
