Default Fish Tank Size

I solved my other problem with the green/brown water (rotting Plants). At
the moment I have 3 tanks. 1 2ft with 2 rice paddy frogs. 1 3ft with 2
fantail goldfish 2 silvertip tetras and 3 unknown tetra size fish. and
another 3 ft with 1 queen pleco, 3 black tetras, 5 neon tetras, 2 adult
female guppies, seven 2 month old guppies and 6 2 week old guppies.

The question is am I overstocked and should I change any of the fish around
and what if any could I add to these set ups. I am going to remove the
goldfish into a separate 2 foot tank of there own as they grow or build a
small pond (undecided).

also!!!!

I want to keep 3-5 bala sharks and 3 - 5 clown loaches what size tank would
I need. Please can you give dimensions as I cant visualise 40, 50 60 gallon
etc. (intellectually challenged)

Many Thanks in advance

Steve

If *you* could provide some dimensions as well, that would be
helpful. I have 3 tanks that are 2 feet long, and they all hold a
different volume of water, which is the really important part of this
equation. The length and width of every 2 foot tank in the world is
not the same.g

FWIW, clown loaches will eventually reach a foot long under best
conditions, and bala's are rumoured to reach even larger sizes. Plan
accordingly.

Think in terms of a five foot x two foot x two foot as a minimum sized grow
out tank with an eight footer in the future.
I've seen Bala sharks of 14" ( not counting the tail) and owned clowns over
ten inches.

and to tie the size to gallons (rounded), five foot x two foot x two
foot is 150 gallons, eight foot x two foot x two foot is 240. For an
even 300 gallons go eight foot x two and one-half foot x two foot.
