Default goldfish color

I just recently moved to Connecticut. In Dallas I had a goldfish pond
with several goldfish I raised in indoor tanks from little tykes. I
noticed that indoors they were rather pale in comparison to their
outdoor coloration. When I moved, I had to give my pond to a friend
where, thankfully, they are all flourishing and doing wonderfully.
Here in CT, I've bought a few more, which I have in a 30gal tank. They
are small, as were my Dallas goldfish when I first got them. I'm
planning on keeping these new ones indoors until I can set up a new
pond here in CT. Is their pale coloration simply a fact of aquarium
kept goldfish? Is there a way for them to "bloom" the way my outdoor
goldfish did in Dallas until I can have a pond again or must it wait
until they are outdoors? Thanks in advance for your help!

Default goldfish color

paint the bottom of the tank black, or, if you got gravel get dark natural pea
gravel. on the back use a dark background. use color enhancing food like aquadine.
in addition to good lighting as mentioned.
