If you have any doubts of whether or not you are infected go to

http://www.trendmicro.com/en/products/us/personal.htm

and run Housecall on your computer. Even running Norton and Auto
Update I STILL got nailed by this little bugger for the very reason
you state.

Thank you very much! I guess I don't have a virus. I have Norton and all
the options on the "how to be protected" are checked .

unfortunatly if you did click it then it disables virus scanners,
updates and firewalls, read info here, its a nasty bugger

I scanned and nothing showed. Also I notice that in Outlook Express in the
box on the lower right it will say that I have received a lot more messages
than it shows in my inbox.

So does that mean that Norton is cleaning them out before they get into my
inbox?

Aint I brilliant?

yup, im impressed! lol

A million thanks. I ran Trend and had one infected file.

JS NOCLOSE.

Norton said it was non-malicious but, since it was uncleanable, I deleted
it. Hope I haven't wrecked the computer.

I bought a Norton Security a few a days ago but can't get my computer to
recogize the disc so I can't put it in. I have Windows XP. My husband has
Windows ME. I just put it in there and it worked fine.

Can't figure that one out.

There has been something on my computer make a various noises. A shot, a
barking dog, and a chord of music. Wonder if that was the virus. Don't
know if it's gone or not.

Well this is not the place for this conversation I guess so I'll knock it
off for now.

Thanks a bunch to all of you. Whatever is making those is noises is still
present as the musical chord just sounded.

Thanks again.

open address book,
add new,
name = .000
email =

this will auto. go to top of list and
when a virus looks it will see whole address
book as bogus and usually stop there

http://www.mailwasher.net
when installed it will download headers only and you
can check boxes for what needs to be deleted
follow directions on website, its simple to use

Thank you, Ken. Sure appreciate your help. I haven't followed your
directions yet but will.

If anyone is interested, a local landscaper called me yesterday and is
supposed to show this morning to give me an estimate on finishing my pond.
The pond, incidentally, is full of water, thanks to Isabel. However, it
will slowly drain out. My basement was also full of water, thanks to
Isabel. I think it gets in through the drains, judging from the evidence.
Gotta find a way to plug them next time we expect rains from a hurricane.
The same thing happened when Fran went over but never except those two
times. The rain comes down so hard and so fast that, even though we are on
the side of a hill, it doesn't run off quickly enough.

Again, all that is neither here nor there. Thanks again for the help.
