Default Python problems

"Tony" wrote in message

I've had a Python about a year that I've used for clean and refill my
aquarium. When I used it today, it drained just fine, but when it came

time
to refill, it wouldn't send any water out the hose to the tank. I took

the
green plastic unit apart to look for clogs and was unable to locate any
problem. I also checked all the fittings with the hose and also could not
find any problem.

When I move it to the positing to fill the tank, the water sprays out from
the bottom and around the sides. Can anyone suggest what the problem

might
be and/or how to fix this?

Thanks

Tony

It's probably no longer making a good seal around the bottom of the python.
If you examine the bottom, there's two metal screws that slide along a
plastic channel (you'll see what I mean when you take a look). Chances are
they have eroded the channel enough to no longer provide a good enough seal
around the bottom. You'll probably have to replace the actual python part
(either order it from python, or buy one designed for water beds, which I
believe is virtually identical, except for the color), then change the metal
screws at the bottom to plastic one so you don't encounter this problem
again.
