Ever wonder if fish get "colds"? ==================== I think I'm going to move my three "bottom resters" into the large 680g tank with my Shubunkins. Maybe all the activity in that tank will help stimulate them into more natural behavior....... -- Koi-Lo.... Frugal ponding since 1995. Aquariums since 1952. I know mellie's tank is in the house so this would not matter in her case, but since in the spring there are such temp changes between night and day could that bother them at all? Here in pgh we are at 70 during the day and 40 at night ======================= Despite what some people claim I haven't seen any harm come to GF from natural outdoor temperature changes. Even fancy GF live through the winter here where the temps drop below freezing for days at a time and ice forms on their ponds or tubs. I add a heater just to keep an opening in the ice for gas exchange. Indoors they have no heaters so the water is about the same as the sunroom temp year round. Cooler in winter and warmer in summer. Also warmer in the day than at night when the sun is shining. The only loss I had due to temp' was outdoors last spring. The koi and GF fry were maybe a week old when the temps dropped to freezing. About 50% of them died. But they were extremely tiny. -- Koi-Lo.... Aquariums since 1952. My Pond & Aquarium Pages: http://tinyurl.com/9do58 ~~~~ }((((* ~~~ }{{{{(ö ~~~~ }((((({* |

![]() Ah Mellie..I see your still into the kill and torture fish thing. I think you need help girl, maybe they have some good meds to curb your desire to kill and torture fish. I really knew somthing was wrong today when I put the food in and he stayed there. Normally he would be eating like he's been starved. Have to say that they aren't keen on the anti-biotic food but usually they try it before they decide. Completley at a loss here. Will do another water change in the morning but the last one made no difference and I'm happy with the water parameters. I saw the Pearlscale have a poo today but haven't seen my Black moor do one for a few days. Doesn't mean he hasn't but haven't seen one. Wish I knew a fish whisperer :-) Koi-Lo, if you have any idea's then please share. I will do likewise although you know more than me :-) Cheers everybody Mellie ============================================== Put some color in your cheeks...garden naked! Someone really needs to report you to the humane society or post your
pic in the LFS to keep you from buying and kiling and tortureing any more fish.........I think we have another BTK pervert here, that likes to do in fish, ort at least thats all we know about........I can see it know....Place fish in tank full of sewer water, spit in tank, watch fish get upset, **** in tank, watch fish get even more upset. Place tank in sun, watch water go to 110 deg, place tank with fish in frige, watch fish get cold, post on internet, what can I do to my poor fishy that just sets there? YOu need help Mellie On 8 May 2006 12:28:38 -0700, "Mellie101" wrote: Hello. Don't know what I've done wrong or how to change it. My pearlscale started to sit on the bottom at certain times of day. Mostly in the morning and at night. As soon as I put food in he is by far the most aggresive feeder of the four. Yesterday he sat there looking so sad and I was at a loss. I went to the pet store and bought some anti-biotic food. They hate it but eat some. All the water parameters are fine. No ammonia, no nitrites and the nitrates are currently around 10ppm. The did get to about 40 at the weekend so I did a water change to make sure the 'sitting on the bottom' wasn't a result of this. PH is around 7.8. Today he is a bit more mobile but now my black moor is doing the same. I just don't get it. They have had no 'fresh, frozen' food given so can't think of any way that something harmful has been introduced. I give them freeze dried, flakes, peas, orange slices daphnia, blood worms, shrimp and tubifex worms. I did think that it could be a result of the weather getting warmer but I have my ac set at around 72 and the tank thermometer shows that the water stays as warm as room temperature. Any suggestions please? I am really at a loss. Thanks in advance Mellie ============================================== Put some color in your cheeks...garden naked!
