I want to wean my Lionfish from feeders, (for it's health) but I can't seem to
get him to eat frozen foods. He ate a piece of krill ONCE but that's it. Even if I wave it in front of it's mouth, it doesn't bite. My reference books tell me not to feed it for a few days and eventually it will eat whatever I place in front of it. Before I starve my fish, does anyone have any ideas. Also, if this is a good recommendation, how long should I keep from feeding it? Thanks. Jim KB3IFO |

Like any animal, be it dog fish or cat, you can spoil them. Do as the text
book says, leave him without food for a few days, he will soon wean over to dead food. Gerry "Jandtplus3" wrote in message ... He is probably very used to eating moving/fleeing prey. Take a piece
of krill and thread the end of a piece of fine fishing line through it for about 1".(Don't tie it on) Then tie the fishing line, about 18" long, to a soda straw. It's kinda like fishing after that.............and fun too. Wiggle it around like a dying fish and when he grabs the krill it will slide off the fishing line. Also known as catch and release ![]() Dave(Grumps) |
