Default Hermit Crab dumps half its legs?!

Yes that is the molting process. It will be fine.. atleast mine was.
Hemit crabs only eat like 3 times a week but still refill its bowl of
food and water even though it can't walk. Hermit Crabs are Noctournal
maby he comes out at night. I persenly think this is the molting
process.

I thought that when crustaceans molt, they only drop their shell, not their
appendages. If his legs came off, something is wrong, I think. Mike.

In my tank with hermits there are legs all over the bottom. Yet when I
inspect the crabs none are actually missing legs that I can tell. It must
be part of the molting process.
