![]() Hey Gail, 05 Jul 04 09:49, you wrote to All: GF Before I upgraded to my next larger tank, I visited GF several of the larger local LFS, and found one that GF had prices significantly lower on the exact same tank GF (same mfr.) compared to other LFS. (I've since GF bought several other tanks & other equipment from GF the same store, even though it's considerably farther GF from my house than several other LFS.) LFS? Live Fish Store? GF I'm near a large city (San Antonio TX) so I have GF choices and that might make a difference, but I GF would recommend you start by visiting as many GF LFS as you can. Sometimes the large chains GF charge more than even a small LFS but you won't GF know that until you compare prices, taking into GF account the fact that with most mail order places GF you'll be paying shipping. GF You might mention where you live. Someone GF here might live in/near the same town and could GF give you more focussed advice. Holladay, UT here. Basically Salt Lake City. -- Dan Hi Dan - I can't help with fish stores in Salt Lake City but that's a big enough metroplex that there should be a few LFS around. You might even call around and ask about a specific size tank that you're interested in; save you a bit of legwork. ![]() BTW my first (and still in operation) 10 gallon tank is one of those Wal-Mart kits; my husband bought it for my birthday about 10 years ago. Who knows who made it but considering how often it's been moved with no ill effect, it is very well constructed. Cheap isn't necessarily an indication of poor construction. I'm more picky about larger tanks, though, given the larger quanitity of water. Gail |
