Underwater halogens & goldfish

I've moved into a house with an outdoor goldfish pond/water feature
(220 x 55 x 15cm). This contains two underwater halogen lights which
look great at night, but knowing how hot these get normally (in air)
are they likely to heat the water enough to be any danger to the fish?

I scuba dive with a halogen dive light. The manual says never to turn
it on in air because it will overheat and crack the lens, yet I've never
noticed it to be hot underwater. I doubt your fish are in danger of burns.

If you're worried about the whole pond changing temps, drop a floating
thermometer in the pool in the evening and watch it for a few hours.
Maybe you could put the lights on a timer to go on at dusk and off at
bedtime to minimize any heating effects. You'd save some electricity too.
