One gallon is way too small for goldfish or plecostomas. Take the
plecostomas back to the store before it dies as well. don't get any
more goldfish until you can get a tank big enough for them.

i'm not allowed a bigger tank. I only got a 1
gallon to work with. And i plan on making it work
at that.

i'm not allowed a bigger tank. I only got a 1 gallon to work with. And i
plan on making it work at that.

One gallon cannot work for a GF. I hope you realize how large a healthy GF
gets to be in less than a year. They're also an oxygen and food hungry fish
that produce a lot of waste. Picture keeping a person in closet with the
door barely cracked. You need to return the GF and get a betta or perhaps a
few pretty male guppies.

Meanwhile do your ammonia and nitrite tests....... and constant partial
water changes.

Go to the pet shop and ask them for a text kit for PH, ammonia and nitrites.
The kits run about $7 each or buy the test strips. Also, Google
aquarium+care or something similar. You can also check this out: Aquarium
