Default Fish Recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a peaceful fish for a community tank (20 gallon -
freshwater) that would like to live in a small, broken clay jar at the
bottom of the tank - preferably a fish that likes to stick its head
out of the hole in the pot (the hole's diameter is about 1.5 inches).
BTW, I'm really not interested in a loach ... something colorful would
be nice, but not necessary. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
