yellow tang eye by
Joe Cool
I have a yellow tang in my tank that today I noticed has a film of some
sort on one of his eyes. It is white and has is causing the eye to stick
out a little. Does anyone have any idea what it could be and how I
should treat it?

Which overflow by
Skylove
I recently read that it seems overflow boxes using pumps are more
troublesome than those that don't, specifically losing siphon. I'm getting
ready to start a 50 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump. I've been debating
between the Amiracle U-tube type and the CPR CS-50 with the aqua lifter.
Which do...

adding sand from St. Petersburg Beach by
LARRY KIMBLEY II
I am tired of paying out the butt for live sand! I live near St. Petersburg
Fl and would like to collect sand and live rock from there. I have checked
red tide conditions and that is not a problem. I also know to rinse the LR
and LS I collect very well. I have some coral and fish in a 125...

'pods in sump by
Billy
My sump\fuge is teeming with all kinds of pods, some of them look
darn near big enough to start attacking hermit crabs. Question is,
whats the best way to "harvest" them, and get them into the display
tank where they can become food for the mandarin and wrasse?

I think I got scammed! by

Has anyone ever purchased from Empire pets? They're located in Marietta,
Ga. I ordered some stuff on the 1st, they hit my card, and I haven't heard
a thing since. My account says it's still processing. They haven't
answered any e-mails and forget calling. The old saying applies, if it

brown Algae and lighting by
Joe Cool
I have been having a brown algae issue for about 4 weeks. I am now on
vacation and was here when the lights came on at 10:00am and noticed the
algae was completely gone from the rocks and about 70% gone from the
sand bed. I come back about 4 hours later and it is as bad as ever. I
have a 24"...

Seperate pump for UV or use ext Filter by
Les Johnstone
Hi all,
Just setting up my tank again after a wipe out a few months ago. Got myself
a UV this time. Is it OK to put it in line with the ext filter or will it
reduce the flow rate to much, should I put the UV on its own filter? The ext
filter is 1000lph on my 300l tank.
Thanks for any help
Les

clown suicide by
Colleen
One of a pair of percula clowns jumped out of the tank last night. I'm
trying to figure out if there was a reason for it, or if it was just an
unlikely jump. There are no other fish in there yet, besides the remaining
clown, just a chocolate chip star, a small emerald crab and a clean...
