Coral Beauty Angelfish. What does he eat? by
Peter Pan
I just purchased a Coral Beauty Angelfish last night. I left the store
without asking what he eats.. I introduced him into the tank, I fed him some
flake food, he didn't eat. I was wondering he he requires something other
then Flake, such as brine shrimp or something else..
thanks

Have you actually used one? by
P. Salad
I know how to get rid of scratches.
I know you like glass better than acrylic.
I even know about toothpaste, mayo, and pole-barn-stove ash.
My question is: Has anyone actually used one of the scratch removal
kits for an acrylic aquarium? What kind, and did it work? How long
did it take (what...

Mayday - dead clam and weird infestation... by
Mark Henry
Okay, everything looked fine last night, everyone ate and was light
sensitive and I went to bed. This morning, one of my t.squamosa is dead
and mostly gutted.
Not wanting to leave the carcas in the tank I pulled it out and placed
it a clean plate to investigate. When I set it down a colony of...

Colt Coral... by
Michael Lawford
Hi All,
I just a new piece of colt coral - what is the best way to secure this to
the LR?
I hear a wooden toothpick is best but surely the wood will pot away and
polute the tank?
Thanks,

flooded basement while filling fresh water resevoir by
[email protected]
another idea that works is get on of those hose timers(for a garden
hose), you already know about how long it should run and set the
timer, they are fairly cheep at your hardware store, this way the bulk
of water is added without your attention, and if you get
distracted....... at least you will...

sand bed options? by
[email protected]
Hi,
Anyone have an opinion on the next best alternative to a DSB? I just
don't like the appearance of 4" of sand, or 2" for that matter. No
offense meant--I know most of you use this method. But I've had a 30
gallon FOWLR with 3/4" of crushed coral and a canister filter running
for 10 years...

Actinics near front to reduce algae growth by
Roy
Awhile back I made a post that stated essentially that if yu placed
your actinics towards the front of the tank it would supposedly
eliminate alge or at least reduce it. A few questioned where I got
that info from and I replied where. UP until that point I did place my
actinics up to the front...

Adding Live Sand to an Established Tank by
Peter Pan
When I first set up my tank 75 gal FOWRL (75 lbs of LR) several Years ago,
I added 3 inches of sand as well as Live sand. Now I am wondering If I
should add more sand as well as more Live sand for a deeper Sand bed. Your
thoughts are appreciated.

Question,size of refugium by
William Marsh
I am building a sump for my 180 G reef tank. The sump is 48 X 18 X 11"
tall. The first section for Protein skimmer is 17" of the 48. Is there a
formula for percentage to make the refugium. I know it should be lower then
the top of the sump and it will dump into the middle section for pumping
out....
