![]() " Cyndie" wrote in message ... I currently have a 45 gallon aquarium with a VERY large tinfoil barb..some angels...tetras....gouramis...etc. I have 2 Aqua Clear 200 (?) filters running. I clean my tank at least every 2 weeks and do water changes/add as needed. My water has never been completely crystal clear. I test it weekly and everything is fine. I think my problem is I have fish that provdie a large waste load. I want to add more filtration to my tank and get the water crystal clear again. Any suggestions on what filter system I should buy?? I want something that will keep my tank clean and my water clarity clear. Cyndie At work, I have a few 'baby' Tinfoils which are about 5.5" long. What are you running inside the filters? Try running double sponges (carbon sandwiches) in each one. This will double your bio-filter and improve your mechanical efficiency. When you service a filter, only ever clean the bottom sponge, which gets alternated with the top sponge when you put it back into the filter. If it works, then it's a $5 fix ![]() ps: make sure that it's a model 200 and not a Mini or a 150, as 2 of these would not be enough for your fishload. NetMax |
